Alpine Tourism Hack – March 24, 2017

Four brave souls of our team took on the journey to Engadin, Switzerland to participate in the first Alpine Tourism Hack!

The goal of this hackathon: Create something new within one day, to help the tourism industry in the region of Engadin.

The event was organized by Pioneers.Discover ( and the prizes were 2 Tickets to the Pioneers Festival as well as a weekend ski trip (hotel + ski passes) for 4 people!

Michael, Stefan, Matthias and Melanie decided to tackle the declining visitor numbers, by creating a Virtual Reality game, where you could experience the ski slopes of Engadin:

In the experience players become skier themselves, controlling the movements by carefully leaning to the left or to the right.

All projects in the hackathon were judged by a jury consisting of diverse key players from the region.
And they decided that the Black Cell experience is the most promising in the category “VR, AR & Gamification”!

Our prize: 2 tickets for the Pioneers festival ( and a team building event in St. Moritz (2 nights + ski passes).
